Get a Library Card

Library cards are free for Wisconsin residents of all ages. To get your card, please visit the library and fill out a registration form. You will need a state-issued photo ID with your current address, and/or a piece of non-personal mail showing your current address.

A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 18 at the time of registration.

Borrowing

You may use your card to borrow items from the Boyceville Public Library as well as any of the 50+ libraries in the MORE Consortium (see the full list here). Access your MORE account online, where you can view the items you currently have checked out, place holds, and renew items. You may borrow up to 100 items and place up to 100 holds at one time.

Your card also gives you access to Wisconsin’s Digital Library (Overdrive and Libby), where you can download e-books, audio books, magazines and more directly to your personal device. You may borrow up to 10 e-books and audio books, and have up to 10 active holds with Libby; magazines and extras don’t count toward your total.

Returns

Materials may be returned to any MORE library, except for interlibrary loans, which must be returned to the Boyceville Public Library. For after-hours returns, items may be deposited in the book drop located in front of the library.

Lost or Expired Cards

If your card is lost or damaged, please notify the library and request a replacement. Replacement cards are $1.

Library card registrations expire after one year, but renewal is easy—just bring your card to the library along with a valid ID so that we can verify and update your account information. (You don’t even need a new card.)  Any fines accrued on your account must be paid before your library card can be renewed.

Fines and Fees

Boyceville Public Library does not charge late fees for overdue materials. However, notices for overdue materials will be sent to patrons, and after the second notice, a replacement bill will be sent. Lost or damaged items will also be billed, and borrowing privileges will be suspended until any outstanding materials are returned or paid for.
